I have too received the same letter!!! only difference is for capital one credit card which I knew I was indebted too but was shocked to hear my balance owed was almost 4 times the amount i was aware of!! Unfortunetly I had not come across this information until now which is $1700.00 later and still paying… Am I still obligated to make payments or what can I do now? have I just been scammed? please if you can help with any info please do thanks so much

We are always obligated to pay our debts but if you feel you are not being treated fairly or being “HAD” then recourse would be to talk with those you owe money with to work out a deal or at least find out what the charges against you are for. If that does not work I would contact The Better Business Bureau and lodge a complaint. I would also seek some advice from a lawyer. That would depend on how much I would end up paying a lawyer vs how much I would have to pay for the debt owing.

Collection agencies are usually willing to make a deal with you to settle an account. Try settling and let me know how it goes.

I have recently started paying this Natale lw office and they said my payment HAD to be over 120.00 per paycheck or that they would just contiue to take me to court. I have since lost my van and insurance, my cable and phone because i can not afford all of it. I als had a direct withdrawl account with them and they were supposed to only take a certain amount and have taken more then they were supposed to, what do I do, if its only a collection do I have to make such big payments?

Sounds like they have really scared you into making payments. I would cancel the automatic withdrawl account so they can’t take any more money. Then negotiate a new deal with them. I doubt they will take you to court. They usually say that to scare you. I don’t know how much you owe your creditor but I would renegotiate the deal to where you can make payments that you CAN afford. If they give you more hassle I would call the consumer protection branch or visit a lawyer to be sure exactly what your rights are. Natale Law Offices do not care about your well being. They just want your money.

I’ve received MULTIPLE phone calls from Natale Law Offices, each time I pick-up they ask for some person (I’ve heard Mark, John, and today it was James), I tell them that they have the wrong number, and they tell me that they are taking me off of their ‘call list’ (what respectable ‘law firm’ has a call list anyways?). So today I received another phone call from them, and I decided that this was the last straw. I called them from my work phone number, which so happens to be a government of Canada number, and they didn’t pick up. Matter of fact they continuously hung up on me. So I called them with my cell phone, only to be told yet again that I was taken off the call list. One more time and I’m going to start calling them asking for nonsense names, for bogus collections.

Oh and too Missjessie, how long ago was it that you owed the money that Natale law offices are “collecting” for? If it is over 2 year they can’t take you to court over it, and it will disappear off of your credit statement in 5-7 years (depending on what province you’re in), and from some of the other stuff that I am reading online, this was the case. Obviously make a stop payment on the automatic withdrawals, call them and tell them why you did it.

Also, Missjessie, you should know that Deanna Natale, the lawyer in charge there, has been brought before the Ontario Bar to answer to allegations over bogus collections and whatnot. Her case was seen on Jan11-12, not 100% sure what the outcome was.

Contact OCCA they are a great company that can help take the wolves off your back..NATALE LAW OFFICES…I have heard of them…they send letter out in some sort of yellow linen .

I too have been receiving threatening (mild, but none the less) phone calls from this group. Point is – I do not owe any one nor do I have any debts for which I do not make monthly payments – visa, for example.

It is to the point where I would consider joining an group action aganst this bunch

I just got a letter from credit bureau of canada collections saying i owe 1300.00 to rogers cable under an account name i have never heard of. I do not owe them this money i could never run up a bill that high.so soneone has obviously used my name and run up a bill. i already have two accounts i am paying on a budget. I believe soneone is doing this to me for revenge. Someone wants to screw up my credit rating. i also believe and it has been rumoured that my identity has been stolen. Someone is trying to play god with my life my life has been ruined. This Man has done horrible things to me and he has the means to do this. He is actually someone known to me. He says he can do this because he is “Superior”. If they have my new phone number then i will know it is bogus because i only have two accounts with rogers and i an paying them up to date on both. so even if they dont call i know this is bogus and someone has used my name on a account they used and i am not addressing it any further. i am having more problems with this personhe has threatened to evict me cut off my odsp and jfs support. He has done physical and emotional injury to mr. and he is a cop so there is no one for me to go to.. He justs boasts how he cab do anything to me and that everyone is on his side. Just thank your stars this one thing is all you have to deal with. take care.
